  • Diabetes affects 25.8 million people, which is 8.3% of the US population

  • Of those 25.8 million, 18.8 million have been diagnosed with diabetes while another 7 million remain undiagnosed

  • Women who have had gestational diabetes have a 35% to 60% increase of developing diabetes in the next 10-20 years

  • Medical expenses for those with diabetes are more than two times higher than people without diabetes
